My Hiking Holiday in Puerto De Soller in Mallorca!

This Hiking Holiday In Puerto de Soller In Mallorca, Spain was a great experience. We were away from the busy bay of Palma, Mallorca in a beautiful unspoilt part of the island, offering opportunities for gentle coastal hikes together with more energetic hikes in the hills and mountains. The landscape offered treasures, such as medieval villages and spectacular views over the Mediterranean coastline and there was an abundance of flora and fauna.

Our holiday was based at the Hotel Marina in Port de Soller which was a privately-owned, friendly, 2 star hotel. The time of year was October and it was warm but not too hot for hiking. The average maximum daily temperature was about 23 degrees Celsius and it was a little cooler in the mountains. It was generally sunny with about 6 to 7 hours of sunshine each day.

We transferred from Palma to Puerto de Soller by train which was particularly lovely as we approached our destination with fantastic views of the mountains and valleys. The train journey crossed the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range from Palma to Soller and we connected with a tram to the port.

Hiking from Port de Soller took in coastal paths, the pilgrim steps as well as easier village walks and more demanding mountain hikes. We had a free day off hiking to do as we pleased. Options included lazing about by the pool or going to the beach, visiting the capital Palma or other places such as Valdemosa, or staying in Soller to explore the locality such as neighbouring villages and the port. We decided to take it easy and relax, exploring the local area at a leisurely pace.
